MMA choose ClaimWatch to help deliver an integrated claims solution for its customers

MMA Insurance plc (MMA), the intermediary-only insurer, has recommended the ClaimWatch® system to its repairer network. The decision follows a successful 6-month trial period where several MMA Approved Repairers used the system. Others are expected to start using ClaimWatch for all MMA work before Christmas 2003.

ClaimWatch is a web-based tracking package that enables insurers, bodyshops and customers to monitor the repair status of their vehicle(s) twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. It's been built to facilitate the uplift of information direct from insurer databases and can therefore easily load repair networks with new work. In essence it negates the need for fax contact between insurer and bodyshop.

ClaimWatch was launched in June 2002 and was immediately successful amongst switchedon bodyshops that could see its double benefit of time saving efficiencies combined with improved levels of customer care. It is now beginning to penetrate the insurance market and MMA is the first insurer to recommend it to its repair network.

Gary Brench, MMA's Chief Engineer, has worked closely with ClaimWatch and its development team over the past 12 months and he comments; "We have always placed a strong emphasis on providing our customers with a responsive claims service. The ability to keep them updated on the progress of their vehicle's repair is key and ClaimWatch provides us with the facilities to do just that.

"By 'lifting the lid' on the repair process our customers will have important and valuable information on a regular basis, thereby reducing follow-up calls and the inevitable stress of making a claim. We are delighted with the positive reception our repairers are giving ClaimWatch. Our network understand its benefits and are now looking forward to the savings both in terms of time and money it will bring to their business."

Steve Wheele, Director of ClaimWatch Ltd, is confident that MMA will be the first ofmany insurance clients and is already talking to a number of other work providers. He comments, "I believe that the insurance industry has been waiting for a product like this for a very long time. It is difficult to overstate how much the network monitoring facilitated by ClaimWatch can improve the claims process for insurers. Moreover, ClaimWatch puts each party (insurer, bodyshop, and policyholder) in control of their part of the claims process and creates a window for all to see how work is progressing. There is no doubt that the proactive nature of ClaimWatch results in a significant drop in phone calls for insurers and repairers alike."

Notes to editors

ClaimWatch:
ClaimWatch is a simple-to-use system backed up with sophisticated technology. Inessence it works like this: as soon as a vehicle to be repaired enters the bodyshop, all of its details are entered on to ClaimWatch and these are updated as the car moves through the repair process. The policyholder is given a secure ID number to enable them to access ClaimWatch and view the progress of their vehicle, whilst the insurer can view their repairs by logging onto password-protected web pages in ClaimWatch. Key advantages of ClaimWatch include its accessibility to all parts of the accident repair industry. At just £22.00 (+VAT) per week it is within the reach of the smaller bodyshops, yet is also completely scalable and powerful enough to meet the needs of the largest work providers. It is completely independent, yet fully compatible with Audaworkstation, Glassmatix III, Motex and Automate. ClaimWatch developers are fully committed to a programme of rolling developments and they take their lead from enhancements suggested by existing and potential work providers and bodyshop users.
